because next year, you’re probably going to be thousands of miles away instead of hundreds, days instead of hours, two and a half months will become four months, and airplane tickets are expensive.

it’s been almost three weeks since your birthday. i’ve had some pleasant distractions, but i still miss you everyday. there are times when i think, just maybe, i don’t miss you all that much. then, at the strangest times, like in the middle of class, i realize it, and it hits me hard. i know you probably won’t see this, but i love you and can’t wait to see you again.

i got see you last night and, even if it was only for about half an hour, it was the best. you hugged me so tight and that’s how i knew you missed me as much as i missed you.

i just want you to be happy, but it shouldn’t have to happen this way. there shouldn’t be drama between people other than the two of us. we shouldn’t have to hide away our friendship and converse in secret to appease anyone else. like you said, you can’t not have me around and i need you too. i want us to just be.

something’s wrong and i can’t help. not from here; that’s the worst part. i’ll be home on friday and everything can be right again for three weeks. you’re such an incredible person and there are so many other, safer outlets. please keep your promise.

i think this year has proven that we can handle pretty much anything. we’ve spent a lot of time apart and there’s been drama, but it’s all good. our summer was, mutually agreed, the best yet, uncomplicated and lovely because it was just the two of us. i’m grateful to have had you in my life these past seven years and i love you flaws and all, you slimy slytherin.
